A Few Randoms
We have been going every few weeks to see "Granny," my Great-Grandma. She's just the sweetest lady and she loves seeing the kids a lot. She likes to hold hands with people when she talks to them, and Zane knows that now so when we walk in he goes over and holds his hands out to her so she can hold them. They both give her lot's of hugs and kisses too.
Here's the three of us at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival on Zane's birthday. Just had to get a good shot of their 4th of July outfits. :)
This is the four of use waiting in the front of the car for the big fireworks. I can some up that 20 minutes with one word...chaos! :)

Zane Moses Turned 3!
Here are a few recent updates, pictures, and videos.
When he bumps something or get a tiny bit hurt, he says he broke it. "Oh no, I broke my leg again!"
His imagination is out of control and sooooo fun and smart! He pretends, tells stories, makes up things, comes up with ideas, and plays with his stuffed animals and Toy Story friends all day and night.
He's been actually helping a lot more lately, like making trips up the stairs to put something away or get something, shutting the door on our way out, getting the right size diaper for me, etc.
When I asked Zane today how he got so fast at running he said, " I just growed up, Mommy." :)
He tells Emerson funny things all the time. Some recently are:
"Emmy, PLEASE stop screaming! I'm trying to listen to music!"
"Sorry, you can't play with Woody right now because he's really special and you might break him."
" No, don't cry like me, Emmy" (he said when he was fussing and she started copying him).
He rolled his eyes at me when I was being silly the other day...no joke!
He'll make up a story and when I go along with it, he says, "No, Mommy, it's just pretend. It's not real...I was just pretending." I think he thinks I really believe him sometimes. :)
The other day, he was sleeping in the car and I turned a corner and he woke up and yelled, "Woah, that's way too fast, Mommy!"
His new name he made up for a boy doll was "Snaky Gilbert."
This is Zane helping me push Emerson in her stroller after the 4th of July parade we went to in Monument.
On the 4th, we went to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival and Zane (and Emmy) got to make seed art, paint, and draw with chalk. It was fun walking around to look at everything and the kids' section was cool.
We let Zane do sparklers this year, which he was very hesitant about at first, but then didn't want to stop. He was super careful and concentrated really hard the whole time. He also wanted to wear his good old Woody cowboy boots out. :)
This is Zane with Zack while we were waiting in the car to see the big fireworks show.
He got to sit on the car for a little bit of it and he and Zack had a blast out there together.
Such a big dude!
For Zane's birthday, he slept in super late, so we decided to wake him up to let him open presents in bed. He usually wakes up super happy so we knew it was safe to take a chance. I love how he just wakes up, jumps right into gifts and says thank you all along the way.

Zane heard Alvin and the Chipmunks singing, "Woolay Boolay.....oooh, watch me now" on tv and so he started imitating it. He sings it, "Roly Poly, Roly Poly." And in a chipmunk voice of course.Singing like Alvin from Josie Weingartner on Vimeo.
Zack's parents, Nancy and Ed, sent lot's of singing birthday cards to Zane for his birthday. He and Emmy both loved (still love) them and so we asked him to say thank you to Gigi and Papa on camera. So, right as I started taping, he started talking about her. I thought it was so sweet because it was totally unprompted. It shows how he's able to express his feelings in more interesting ways.
He says, " Thank you, Gigi. I love you, Gigi. I love you so much, Gigi. You are so special. I will love you for my whole life. I think you are so perfect." Then, just silly stuff about his toes and who knows what else.

Emerson Update
Here's a few updates, pictures, and videos of Emmy.
The other day, for the first time in her whole little life, she reached for someone else and didn't cry when I dropped her off at the nursery at my Bible Study! I couldn't believe it. It only took 14 months...not bad!
She has two upper and two lower molars, which will help so much with all her chewing.
She can open doors now...uh oh!
When she falls asleep in the car now, we can transfer her into her bed without very much trouble at all and she goes right back to sleep. She never used to be able to do that.
She does a lot more animal sounds now and just repeats them over and over and over and over.
When she asks something with words or sign language, she starts shaking her head up and down and saying "yeah" over and over like it will talk us into saying yes.
This is her and her dad's bad hair day...
She still eats a lot and a good variety and is still as messy as ever. She doesn't mind it, like Zane used to and still does.
We went to a 4th of July parade and she zonked in the stroller, which almost never happens.
We went to a park, and she loves swinging and this day she went down the little slides all by herself.
We love how she constantly shakes her head yes and says, "Yeah."
I was just in the mood to video tape a couple of weeks ago, so I just taped her doing basically nothing. So, this is kind of a boring video, but fun just to see her hanging out.

We took Zane and Emerson to see the fireworks in Castle Rock the day after the 4th since we were already in the car driving back at that time. All four of us sat in the front seat of our car while we waited and Emerson entertained us with her driving skills. The fireworks started late so they got so restless and then Emmy was too tired and sad to even enjoy the fireworks. At least Zane loved them.Driving from Josie Weingartner on Vimeo.
This is Emerson's fish sound. I like how she did the dog sound with her mouth closed...like it's too much work to do the real one. :)What Does a Fish Say? from Josie Weingartner on Vimeo.
I like how she's starting to add sound effects when she plays. When she pours tea, she makes a sound with her mouth and does it a lot more in general now. It's fun seeing her little imagination starting up!Tea Party from Josie Weingartner on Vimeo.

Play Play Play
They have a sand box for kids to play in at the zoo, so we stopped for a while to play. Emmy usually just sits in one spot and tries to use a shovel to fill a bucket with sand. Zane is usually exploring and trying new things.
Here's another sandbox that we found at another park...
We were there with our playgroup. This is Tessa and Cody, Zane and Emerson's good friends who we like to spend time with.
Zane got a new sprinkler toy for his birthday and it's been a main source of entertainment for all of us since.
Here's a video of Zane and Emmy playing with it. They like to turn it one while the other one is next to it. Zane kept trying to tell (and gently push) her to get closer and then run over and turn it on.

Zane and I were cracking up. I couldn't stop laughing at Emmy's response to getting wet.Untitled from Josie Weingartner on Vimeo.
Good old water table
Zack even got in on the action. I've never heard Zane laugh harder than when Zack let him get him wet!
