March Recap

March was a fun month.  We had some super sunny days and some really good snowy days.  We had some really busy days with lessons and practices and school and we also had a week of spring break.
Zane is loving school and is meeting some really great friends there.  He loves drawing and coloring and writing and is also up to #35 on his favorite chapter books series, Magic Tree House.  He has also been learning how to play baseball with his Dad, and soccer too.  He and Emmy love playing in the backyard. He seems so old - just lost his second tooth.  Wow! Emmy also loves her school and friends and has really stepped up and been a big helper lately.  Her and Zane have started doing chores to earn money and she loves doing things around the house (usually!) She is so funny and makes us laugh all day long.  She is also emotional and reacts big to things which keeps us on our feet. And she is so sweet to Smith and Molly.  Smith has been either extremely loving and sweet or extremely upset and frustrated.  He is officially the tantrum king of the family.  I think his anger fits top anything that Zane and Emmy ever did! He hits Zane and Emmy (and instantly says sorry). He fights me when I put him in his carseat, he won't hold my hand in the street, he doesn't want help with anything, he won't let me hold him when he gets hurt, etc.  He is so independent and strong willed! But on the other hand, he is irresistibly cute.  He is starting to copy everything we say and talking a lot on his own.  He can keep up better with the big kids and loves playing with them.  He could be outside all day long.

Here are some pictures from our month...

Smith wants to swing on the big swing of course and it makes me nervous the whole time.  He just thinks he is SO big.

Molly hangs out with us most days - she loves just sitting and playing and watching the kids.

Just cute pics of this little dude.  He knows most of his body parts now when we ask - so he's pointing to his tummy and head...

This is such a random picture that I LOVE! Everytime we go into Old Navy, Emmy wants to be a mannequin. She fits right in! LOL.
This month, I got to take both Emmy and Zane on a "date" with just the two of us.  Zane has been begging me to go bowling but every time I pictured going with all 3 kids, I panicked.  So it was perfect to just take my big buddy!  We had so much fun. I honestly can barely think of anything else that I enjoy more than spending one on one time with each kid (or Zack :)

This is how Smith tries to drink out of a cup - yep, we have some work to do.
Zane and Smith are beyond sweet with each other.  They crack each other up, spend awesome time together, read together and love being together.  Smith will just walk up to Zane with something and ask him to play.  Zane is UNBELIEVABLY patient and kind to Smith.  He helps him on playplaces instead of playing by himself, he shows him how to do puzzles and toys, he plays catch outside, etc.  They just have a super special relationship.  Oh I love it.

I found them reading this day while we were trying to get ready to leave.
These next pictures are from a "Superhero" birthday party we went to.  Everyone got to dress up like superheroes. Here they are eating cake...
Flash, Captain America, and Super Girl

During Spring Break, with some extra time we had at home, I decided to try some bins filled with beans and also some filled with rice.
The beans were fun to scoop and pour and throw (for Smith).

Then, the big kids and I dyed some rice with koolaid and vinegar.  We let it try for an entire day before getting it in the bin to play.

After all the playing...

One day we went to Barnes and Noble just to hang out.  Smith did awesome and liked reading with his big brother. Zane just sat there and read a ton of books!! Smith read a few.
Emmy loves the bookstore too.  She always grabs a huge stack of books and then finds a comfy spot to read.
Playing with the train.

Reading by Molly
Holding hands on the way in.
This is what we look like most days going places...

For Emmy's and my date, we ran a couple of errands together and then got frozen yogurt.  You can always count on sweets to make this girl happy!

One of Smith's tantrums.  He wanted my phone.  Haha.

Playing in the rain.  We have only had a couple of tiny rain storms so far this spring, but they were prepared.  :)

Smith gets several bumps and bruises everyday.  This one was pretty bad - he was jumping on the couch and bonked his eye on the window sill.  It ripped open and bled for a while and got pretty swollen.  Poor guy just looks beat up all the time.

Zane and Molly and I went to storytime.  Molly was the happiest baby in the whole room!  It was awesome because they both loved it and Smith is getting better and better at sitting and listening when it's time to listen.

Brother time at the park -
Chasing

Swings

Almost everyday when we pick Zane up from school, we stay and play with friends.  They love it.

I barely took any pictures on St. Patrick's Day, but this is the kids making their leprechaun traps.  We also had lot's of fun green foods for breakfast.

ZOO!!

Everytime Smith gets in the car, he wants to climb to the backseat to sit in between Zane and Emmy.  Then, gets bummed when he goes into his normal carseat.
Some cuties of Smith

He was yelling no at me when I was taking his picture...
Swimming lessons...
Oh I love these goggles...

Zane was learning to dive.

Then, one day we tested out our new skills at our indoor pool with Jord and Molly!  I love when Jordan gets a little vacation time so we can squeeze in an actual playdate.

Exhausted after swimming.

Zane was tickling Smith - Smith will sit on the couch for about 2 minutes to watch TV and then starts getting bored.  So Zane was playing with him. :)
Reading again...

We love our Zoobs.  They came up with this totally on their own.

Oh sweet Molly...

She loves Zack so much.  She was having a blast playing by him and then even after he fell fast asleep she kept smiling at him and played there for a while.

Holding hands...
Smith brought this toy over to show her and dance with her
Yep, sometimes Molly and I just have to vacuum together.

Boxes are so much fun - coloring, poking, hiding, driving, etc. etc.

Random pic of buddies looking out the window
These are some pictures from Zane's basketball season.  He had so much fun and then during the last 5 minutes of the last game, he finally scored a basket.  I was jumping up and down, screaming, and even crying because I was so happy for him. (Yes, sort of an overreaction.) He was just more happy that his team won. LOL.

We went out for frozen yogurt to celebrate...

Good thing he had that sweatband.

The crowd...
