Carving Pumpking and Jumping in Leaves

The weekend before Halloween, we carved pumpkins.
Here's the "before picture"... Emerson stuck her hand in once and immediately yanked it back out and asked for a napkin. She wouldn't stick it back in. I guess she doesn't love getting messy like she used to. Zane loved digging in, which is interesting, because he doesn't usually love to get messy and dirty.

"After picture" - Zane was making a scary face like his pumpkin, Emmy was smiling, and we carved Smith's with a winking eye and open mouth. They both picked their faces on their own after we drew many drafts of choices for them to choose from.

We had a million leaves in our yard so we played on such a warm fall day.

So bright!

Here's what it looked like after we raked and put the leaves into bags...
Luckily we had a few neighbors to help us. It was huge job!
