Well, we have another sickness in our family...surprise surprise. I feel like it's been one thing after another. Last week I was super sick, and now it's Zane's turn. He's had a really high fever consistently since Friday, and also threw up twice Friday night and Sat. morning, so I took him into the doctor this morning. They didn't see any source of infection after the normal check up, but felt like it was important to do more tests to find out what is causing his fever. So, first they did a urine test and I got Zane to pee into a cup on our first try instead of having to hook a bag up in his diaper. They were impressed. :) Then, they took blood for a blood test. He didn't even cry or fuss or anything. I think I almost cried because I was so nervous for him, but he was a champ. He told them thank you when he left and said, "Bye Doctors!" They said he was the best behaved two year old they've seen in a long time.
While we waited for the results, we hung out at the park for a while. Then the doctor called and said his urine test looked concerning, and unfortunately had been a little bit contaminated, so they had to do a catheder urine test. This was a tough one for the little guy, especially because it was right during his lunch/nap time, which he hadn't had yet. Finally, we did an x-ray of his chest and lungs. The doctor said she would call tonight to let us know the results. She is hoping to rule out anything scary or bad that could be causing such a fever and then they will go from there.
Emerson was a trooper too. She mostly slept and only had a few breakdowns. We were gone from 9:30 until 2:30 and we finally made it home to all take naps. Let's hope we can get rid of Zane's fever and getting sick so often lately!!!!

Jos-I'm so sorry Zane isn't feeling well! Poor guy! And poor you! We'll be praying that they figure it out and it's nothing serious.

josie! i am so sorry to hear that your family has been sick lately! i'll be praying for zane ...
Jose,
so crazy, this sounds exactly like what Tyler had...high fever, no other symptoms, except he threw up twice a week before. He had his fever for over 2 weeks, until they finally hospitalized him and did every test in the book. Finally after nothing came back, they put him on a high dose of antibiotics and his fever was gone the next day, and has never come back. Maybe you could ask the Dr. to give him some antibiotics, if they don't find anything and his fever is still there.
Praying for you guys!
Oh, Josie, you guys are in our thoughts and prayers... Please keep us updated!!
