Zane and Emmy have been participating in track this summer. They practice 3 mornings a week, and they have really been enjoying it. Some mornings feel early and sometimes they feel tired at first, but they always are happy and energized when I pick them up. They get to play games, run drills, practice races and events, etc.
A few weeks ago, they had their first track meet. They were both pretty timid and nervous at first, but then got really into it. Emmy especially wanted to keep racing and racing, she wanted to get a first place ribbon.
That morning, she ended up running in four races, with an entire t-ball game in between events. And on her last race after all that, she got third, only because she stopped running at the numbers instead of the finish line. Oops! She would have gotten first in her heat for sure.
Zane started off his day with "baseball throw" and he came home with a first place ribbon. He was soon proud of himself. He really is so good at throwing a ball!
Smith was so proud of him too, he gave him a huge hug when he heard the news.
Emmy kinda stands out with that bright hair!
Emmy. Is. Fast.
These two, best buds.
Zane at the starting line... He ran the 100 m and the 400 m (his favorite)
They got some ribbons!!
Smith felt left out and wanted to be in a pic too. Haha
