We went camping at Boyd Lake State Park for two nights with Grandma and Grandpa. It was Smith's first camping trip (except when he was still in my belly). We couldn't' believe that we hadn't been camping since before Smith was born! To sum up the weekend, it was HOT, but good hanging out time.
On the road!
We (by we I mean Zack) got some good reading time in. Zane too.
Roasting hotdogs for dinner
Smores
Dave took a lot of time teaching the kids about fishing
We spent a few hours at the lake, in 100 degree weather.
Smith got to go on the first Kayak ride with Grandpa Dave.
Then he took the big kids on a huge long ride, for the entire afternoon, all the way back to camp.
Zack walked down at one point to bring them a drink and Emmy jumped out and swam to him and then swam back to the kayak.
This was Zane walking back from the big trip. He was exhausted, starving, thirsty, bitten by mosquitoes, but had the best time!
Tired, hot man!
Smith got to go fishing too. He practiced casting out in the sand first.
Ready to fish
Smith took this pic when he got back. Look at his toes!
Then he zonked out in the chair right in the middle of the day. Camping and swimming and fishing is hard work.
